The Deli Comedy Festival was a month-long festival of comedy preview shows featuring comedians from Romesh Ranganathan and Felicity Ward to Jayde Adams and Denim Girl Band.

The festival ran across the whole of July 2018 featuring 45 different preview shows in time for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

As the creator and producer of the festival, malachy’s role included conceiving the festival and pitching it to Theatre Deli, programming the shows, budgeting, overseeing marketing and PR, designing promotional content such as the poster and flyers, stage management, duty management and even photography.

The festival was featured by the British Comedy Guide, Southwark News, and reviewed by Funny Women who praised the festival for having ‘such a good balance of acts’ and for ‘championing female acts’.

The Deli Comedy Festival continued to run yearly at Theatre Deli due to the success of its first year, and Malachy continues to work in live comedy across the country.
